Sequencing my own DNA
From Carls wiki
I want to sequence my own DNA. This page collects all thoughts on this matter that I have been diligent enough to write down.

Obstacles
- cost
- it's not exactly cheap
- equipment
- I don't own a DNA sequencer
Plan
- get a job at a place where they sequence DNA
- I have a couple of options, but nothing certain yet
- sequence my own DNA on spare time
- must be a fairly unique hobby
What to sequence
There's a fair amount of DNA in there. So maybe I will want to be selective. In that case,
- hemoglobin
- classic
- the tRNA genes
- because they are very well preserved and should yield a predictable output
- eye color genes
- getting to know my eye color the hard way
- methylated sites
- because I don't think it's been done very much
- epilepsy
- rolandic spikes is said to be located on chromosome 15q14. It would be interesting to read that part
